The beauty of Pulau Weh

Rewind to the past 3 months, I and my friend, went to Aceh. Long story short, this is some sort weekend getaway plus Friday and Monday. I wasnt supposed to be the one to go there, but then one thing leads to another, her supposed to be companion cancelled and I replace him. Funnily, she flew from Jakarta to KL, the from KL to Aceh within hours difference. Not for any specific reason, such as cost or connecting flights, but rather to collect immigration stamps in her passport ... What a compelling reason.

We arrived at around noon at Sultan Iskandar Muda airport, passed thru the immigration. And by the way, just a little background, I didnt manage to sleep at that day, because there was night work which requires me to stay awake until late and since like only 1 hr left, I didnt sleep and feeling very tired, heaty on my way to Aceh. Despite of drinking a lot of water, I still feel rather unstable. One minute cold, the next minute hot. It really doesnt jive well with the hot temperature in Aceh.

Once we passed thru the immigration, we tried to find a cab, but was told that they will try to scam the hell out of you. So, feeling not so good, we opted to get the airport bus. We did find the airport bus, and was very empty. Not too long, it was filled with several other people. It seems like they know each other. But then we thought maybe they came here in group.
See some were actually standing

After around 30 minutes or so, we arrived at the biggest Masjid downtown Banda Aceh. And we didnt have any idea on how to pay the fare of the bus. There should be one crew who will collect the fare. And it strikes my mind that this bus is chartered by the group. So we went and asked the driver, and IT WAS !!! Well luckily, all the passengers didnt really care so we only deal with the team leader and the driver.
Next stop, we figured where to go, and after couple of minutes cooling down at the shade below the trees, chit chatting with a street vendor, selling coconut drink, we decided to go the jetty and waited there. I didnt manage to take some photographs outside of the jetty though.
Tourism map inside the jetty area. This map shows you all the tourist attraction surrounds this area and the island.
Inside of the jetty.
After hours of waiting, we took the jetty to Pulau Weh and chartered a car to reach the inn. From the jetty to the inn, it took us around 30 minutes. And trust me, in the afternoon, the breeze was very nice. I hate the daytime, though. It's freakingly hot.
Some of the scenery pictures while waiting for the boat to the inn.
It may seem very bright, but it was very breezy, you're definitely going to love it there to chill out and relax.
There is this boat parked at the opposite island.
From this place to the inn, we have to take boat. The boat was provided by the inn, and she was popular.
This is near the dock area.

There's more to come actually; these are not all, but I gotta prepare for workday tomorrow, so yeah, until later ...

20-Jun-2014 21:34 .. Out of boredom, let me continue my blogging journey ...
So, you've seen the night scene, you may want to know how it looks like during the day.
This is the back yard from the window in my room.

This is from the inside of the room.

Right after this, we went to 0 km. It's a spot at the most west of Indonesia. It's about 15 minutes drive from the inn.

I didnt managet to get the GPS coordinate for this location, but luckily, I had this. Translated as Latitude and Longitude.

It's not me, it's my friend, right in front of the 0km.

Along the way, you're gonna see ocean, and this is one of it. I know it didnt do it justice, but if you're there, it's relaxing.

The water was so clean, you can see the reflection of the sky.

Actually, we went to Taman Kota and the Masjid Raya, but I could get any good shot, so I'll skip it here. And we went for lunch in a western restaurant by the sea. I couldnt remember the name.

Then after this place, we stopped by at a fortress, though not so much looks like a fortress :).
See, the fortress is at the far end, above the hill.

This is on the way back to the port.

Right after we reached Aceh, we checked in to the hotel, and went for a walk.
This is one of the street with a many street vendors, let me get back to you on the name.

This is on our way to find the famous Rex Penayoung.

After dinner, we continue walking to Masjid Baiturrahman.

The next day, first stop is Museum Tsunami. This is one of the room.

To be honest, starting from this point, I am not really keen to upload the pictures, since this will reminisce sad memories from those people who were affected by the tragedy. So for them, please note that this picture serves as public information only with there is no particular intention whatsoever.

This monument is to remind us that the power plant was dragged from off-shore to the mainland due to the power of Tsunami.
Next stop, our friend brought us to a beach, again, I can't remember the name. It was quite far from the main road actually. Sorry, I didnt take many pictures here and only this one is okay to be shown.
Last pictures I wanna show you is the Bandar Udara International Sultan Iskandar Muda. That wraps up everything. Until next time.
