Out of my boredom in KL, I prepare my camera and took off. Malaysia has its LRT (light rail train) system which makes me easy to go places without car and not having to hail a cab which is irritating.
Above everything, I started off my taking picture of Dataran Petaling Jaya, just across my apartment. It was too nice of a weather not to take a picture of.
So that day, one day after Yang Dipertuan Agong official birthday, I went out and take LRT to Masjid Jamek and walk around that area to shoot some pictures. This is the path I've taken:
Google says I walked around 2 KMs.
I stopped at LRT station Masjid Jamek, and went down south. I could see the Masjid building on my right but I didnt go there, thinking I can went there later for landmark shoots.
I turned left towards Jalan Tun Perak and turn left again to Jalan Ampang. Over there, you can see quite many Indian shops selling almost everything. By Indian I mean is Local Indian.
And then, at the junction, I turn left again, this is where I found a red public telephone in run down condition, almost the same as its surrounding environment.
At the corner, there is Kafe Masjid Jamek. I think this is where all the employees of the surrounding offices building are having their lunches. Next to it, there is money remittance service, so I bet around here there quite a lot of migrants.
Arrive again at LRT station, i took a picture of a hallway, in maps it says a classic hotel, but I didnt get the chance to verify. It looks quite ancient but dirty. If you have someone wearing bright red or yellow color posing in between these pillars wearing this non smilaey face will be a great photos I think.
And then from this hallway, I get across and walk along side the road next to Klang river. If you exit from Masjid Jamek station to Jalan Masjid India, you will find that along the street here, you could find street vendors selling clothes, glasses even snacks.
This picture I took from up the stairs of Masjid Jamek LRT entrance. This is in front of Citin Hotel.
And this one is in front of Citin Hotel besides OCBC building
It's quite a busy road, everyone is here, from locals, foreign workers, and tourists.
A telecommunication dealer which sells textiles.
Not far after, on my right, I saw there is market, mostly sells kerudung, shirts, watches, but later I find that they sell it expensive, so if you happen to stumble around, you may want to bargain.
Out from this market, on my right I can see Masjid India, and after that, Malaya Mansion.
Next to it, there is Palace Hotel which does not resembles Palace at all.
Near the entrance of the hotel, there is a Veg Restaurant cum Carpeters cum Telco Shops.
This guy is selling bubbles.
Another shopping centers called Mydin, and Hasyfa. This place I think is the migrant center because as you can see Digi is offering their IDD services. Either migrants, or it is Tourists spot, but I didnt seee many tourists here though, at least not one with camera except me. All these 5 pictures below are in 1 spot.
And this intersection is where I was heading to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. There are 2 Cendol stalls I can see with quite many people.
Once you get in Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman, along the road is all textiles shop up until Sogo.
Now Sogo is where the locals gather.
Further up, you could see Houz depot on the right side, and across is Busana, it must be selling clothing etc.
As I said earlier, it was one day after Yang Dipertuan Agong official birthday, turns out I found one signage, and again, a run down public phone competing against trash bin.
I kept on walking until I found post office.
And right at the corner, there was Tune Hotel.
Those 2 pictures I take in about 15 to 20 minutes differences, that is why you can see the lights are getting darker. And that is the wrap of my afternoon walk around Masjid India, hopefully this can be useful to you guys who wants to have more information about this area.
