Checking Out Melacca 2013

Yesterday, I went checking out Melacca. Nothing motivates me, except my curiosity of how it looks like.
Leave from home at about 7.00 am. I took LRT to Masjid Jamek, and then interchange to Ampang/Sri Petaling line. One thing I didnt know was, that these 2 lines split out in Chow Sow Lin station, so took me quite long to find my way.
Ups,sorry, forgot to tell you that my bus departed from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). This station is integrated with Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) LRT station. In fact, website is www.tbsbts.com.my. Yes, yes before you ask, Malaysian are known to abbreaviate anything, even your name also they shorten it.
Back to my story, I ended up boarding the wrong train. It didnt go to Sri Petaling, it went to Ampang. So the announcement said that I should disembark in Chow Sow Lin and take platform B. Dont want to make my friend wait longer, once get off the bus, I hurry to the nearest exit and found nowhere else to go but EXIT. And turned out that the platform B is just next to the platform A. D'oh.

TBS is a very nice bus station, very far from my imagination of a dark dirty station. It looks like an airport.

The bus ride took 2 hours, and from Melaka Sentral, we went straight to Jonker Walk to find some food to eat. It was super hot and we were walking, and all restaurants that we saw are chinese so we're not really sure if it is halal for us. I called my friend and he told me that all the Nyonya food are halal, d'oh!
We found soooo many Nyonya restaurants along the road but ended up eating chicken rice ball hahahha.

Actually, we can go for better option, there is HRC just at the entrance of the walk.
But never mind, because my 3 fellas are not really that choosy to food. Feeling full, we decided to go pray, and ask the tourist police of where to go if we want to go back to Melaka Sentral. If you can see, the Tourist Information Center is downstairs, and the surau is upstairs. Surau is the place for muslim to pray, and it is written as Surau Warisan, which means, Heritage Surau. Surau is a malay word of Mushalla, which in Arabic means, place to conduct as-shalat.
This is how it looks like from the Surau. You can see the Victoria fountain and the Stadthuys which was being renovated.

This is the famous Queen Victoria's fountain and the Malacca Clock Tower.
We decided to move west towards Maritime Museum and come across this piece of land with disorganized soils, it looked unusual but somehow I didnt picture it right.
This is the river just next to the Tourist Information Center, it is also the river where the boat ride passes.
There is this plank with Trek 1000 langkah. At first I dont know what it was, but when I go to Maritime Museum, there was another board that says, you've reached 1000 steps.
Above the river, there is quite a space with a lot of cannons, so I think this must be a fortress.
Walk a bit further to the west, you'll find a windmill.
I have actually made a mental note to come back here at night because I think the scenery will be beautiful with all the lights are on, and it's very easy for me to find a flat surface to put my camera as a tripod.
This is the back yard of Quayside hotel, very nice, but very hot, and smell hahaha.
Now, walk a bit further to the west, there is the Maritime Museum, and there is nothing but big old ship with Flying Dutchman in it. You have to pay RM 5 to get in.
We can get up and take photograph from above.
This view is taken from the rest area just behind the Maritime Museum.
Then, after this, I was parting ways with my friend, and I'm all alone. I was heading towards my Home Stay and pass by Museum Islam, so I guess, I'll check this out.
And my favourite piece:
Passing by Taman Merdeka, we reach the town area. This place in the corner,on the left side of DiGi is the Pahlawan walk.
Not far from this point, you can already see Dataran Pahlawan.
Feeling all sweaty, I go to my home stay, Apa Kaba Home Stay, it is very Malay house, price is RM 40 per bed, so I have to pay RM 120, because there are only 3 beds available. It is clean.
This is one of the corner in the Melacca city in the morning.
The famous A Famosa.
Next to the A Famosa, you'll see the museum maps.
Melacca Sultanate Palace
The above is the live replica of Sultanate palace, and below is the miniature size. I took photograph of it to count how many poles does this palace have.
If you count correctly, total poles are 18 at the rear building, and the front side has 14 poles. And this is the sneak peek of the interior of Sultanate Palace Musuem.
Enough seeing Melacca stuff, I walk up to the west and come across St. Paul Hill and Art Gallery.
If you walk along the road, you will see the famous Stadthuys. I only manage to photograph the top part of the church.
Feeling hot, I decided to buy Cendol Melacca Tower. This is just across the Melacca Tower, but taste didnt really impress me, and later on I found out that it turned out it's not the famous Cendol people are talking about.
This is the bus I take from KL to Melaka and back, and turn out the driver is the same person.
Actually, I bought 5 pm bus from Melaka, but looking at the weather where it was very hot, I decided to change the timing. Well, I prepared myself if they wont allow me to change but yeaayyy, turned out that it is okay. Well, I only need to pay about RM 12.30 for the fare, but still, it is a good surprise :), thanks to Delima Express.
This the bridge from Tesco to Melaka Sentral, very long bridge, almost same length as Semanggi Bridge in Jakarta.
And this is the bus that I took from Melaka Sentral down to Jonker Walk, U17 Panorama Bus. I pay RM 1.50 per person. This is 4 of us, so it should be RM 6, but the driver discounted the price and we only need to pay RM 5.00.
This is one of the river in Melaka.
And to my surprise, the International Airport, is very near to the main street. This is the picture of the tower which I took from the bus.
