Welcome to my weekend series. It's a good getaway, to temporarily keep me away from my sad story and my being broken hearted. This weekend I've planned to go to Halal Festival, held by CIMB Islamic Malaysia in MIECC, Seri Kembangan. It was suggested by Hardi, one of my friend, you will see him in one of the pictures below and so 3 of us went there.
I left house at 12 pm and met Adien and Hardi at KL Sentral LRT station. We have to take KTM (Kereta Api Tanah Melayu) to Serdang station. Ticket price from KL sentral is RM 1.70. There are several vending machines for ticket but if we dont have exact monet at hand, we have to check which machines with "Please Collect Change" sign. We can also buy ticket from the counter, but be prepared for long queue.
Inside the KTM station, we waited at about 20 minutes and the journey itself took us about half an hour.
At Serdang station. The platform on the left hand side is the one coming from KL, and the opposite lane is for those wants to go back to KL. In Serdang, there is quite spacious parking lot for those who wants to avoid KL's traffic jam.
Once we've arrived at Serdang station, there are couple of options we can take to get to the Mines. MIECC is connected to the Mines. We can take Rapid KL Bus no 414, water taxi or we can hail a cab. First, we have to cross the street to do that.
We've decided to get on the water taxi to reach the Mines. The jetty is at your right hand side next to the Restoran Serdang KTM in above picture.
We wait for approximately 20 minutes before the boat came. And when we want to board the boat, the driver said it's already full so we have to wait for the next one. Feeling like didnt want to wait, then we decided to walk to the Mines. It's 2 pm and we walk there. So just in case any of you guys are having the same experience as we did, just go straight thru the shopping lot and then turn left and then you will see The Heritage, and you can go in and pass thru the underpass.
The walkway is at the level 3. This connects The Mines to MIECC.
After lunch, we decided to go back and this time, we took the boat. Fare is RM2 per person, cheap and much faster than walking.
This is the information that the lifejacket is under the seat, but if you look closely, all our seats do not have open space !!
Didnt feel like we want to call it a night, we took go-KL bus, it's a free service provided by the government to Chow Kit area.
After Hardi gotten his stuff at Houz Depot, we walked to the food area. And we saw this crowd, looks like they were queueing up for something free, but we didnt stay there long enough to know what was given away.
So, there it was, after food, we went back home and take a good night rest. Ciao, until next time!
